My instrument panel on my 2004 Cavalier has been acting screwy for about 2 years now (and I've only had the car for 3.) My speedometer would stop working and on special occasions my tachometer would stop working as well. To fix this my boyfriend and I found a replacement instrument panel online (we went to ebay, I just don't remember the distributor that we used) All the cavaliers use the same instrument panel almost. We then took apart my dash (which sounds a lot harder than it actually was) and PDF instructions can be found online on how to do that, just be careful around the airbag. The instrument cluster is literally a plug and play. So we took my old one out and put the new one in with a click and two screws.
fuel gauge, speedomiter on instrument panel doesnt work on car and keeps stalling
The location of the BCM on a '97 Cavalier can vary based on the model. Many of them are just left of the hedge pillar and below the instrument panel. Some are above the instrument panel.
i have dash light problems also and my easy fix is just hitting the dash . the lights all work again after i do!

You can put a manual rollup window back on track, in your 1994 Chevy Cavalier, by removing the inside door panel. The window track is easily visible with the door panel removed.
I would love that answer as well. Some of my instrument panel lights are out, and the diagram in the owner's manual is horrible.
