Once plugged in with a power cable and a data cable (most likely USB), the external Iomega hard drive should show up as a drive in My Computer. The system drive is usually the C drive. Any optical drives such as CD or DVD drives usually come after that. Once you find your drive, open it. You can drag and drop your files or folders to the new drive that way, which will default to copy, then delete your old files.
Alternatively, if you drag and drop using the right mouse button instead of the left, the comptuer will ask you if you'd like to move, copy or create a shortcut. You can use this method to move your files and folders instead of only copying.
If your computer does not recognize the external drive, you may have to return or have someone look at the drive to verify that the drive is functioning correctly and that an undamaged Windows-compattible file system exists.
