The only option up until around 2003 was the 4 speed auto or the 5 speed standard. When they switched to the 5 speed autos and the 6 speed standards they also went from a 4.0L to a 3.4L (or whatever it is they put in them now). You may be able to get an adapter to put the new auto in, or you could switch to a Chevy automatic which I know adapter are available.
