The Power of Attorney, the Commercial Invoice, and the Pro Forma invoice are all export documents that are required to be prepared by the exporter himself.
Your business will be authorized for monthly invoice factoring quantity. You can factor invoices as much as that amount. Commonly your lender will advance from 70%-80% of an invoice, with the balance held in reserve until the invoice is paid.
Normally an invoice factoring company will advance about 85% of the value of an invoice based on which sector your business works in. The remaining balance, less the invoice factoring company charges, is then made available to you as soon as the debt has been collected.
It is possible to enter a proforma invoice in account books. However, it is not required, because a proforma invoice is not considered as an accounts receivable.
A pro forma invoice refers to an estimated or abridged invoice that is sent to a buyer from the seller in advance of delivery of goods or shipment. The pro forma invoice usually contains the quality and kind of goods, their value and other important information such as the transportation charges and the weight.
Proforma Invoice is not a real invoice, it is simply a confirmation of the purchase order before shipment of goods. Commercial invoice is what the vendor bills you after the goods have been delivered. Hence proforma invoice is not recorded as a liability on the books while the commercial invoice is. Many times, before establishing a credit relationship with the vendor, the vendor will present a Proforma invoice to request a payment in advance (PIA) before shipping the order.
