No, this is an internet myth, and it is not true. Neither his law degree nor his law license was ever revoked. The degree was awarded, with academic honors, in 1991 from Harvard Law School. And as for the law license, Mr. Obama voluntarily decided to leave the legal profession to run for political office, so he allowed his license to expire. It is currently on "inactive" status, since he is not an active lawyer. But because he left the legal profession in good standing, he can go back to law any time he wants and he can renew his law license.

∙ 10y agoAbsolutely not. This is an old internet myth, and there is no truth to it. When Mr. Obama ran for the Illinois State Senate, he was still a practicing attorney, but as he got more involved in politics, he had no time to practice law. So, he allowed his law license to lapse; it was put on "inactive status." But because he left the legal profession in good standing, all he has to do, if he wants to be a lawyer again, is catch up on any courses he has missed and take the licensure exam. He can then return to the practice of law.

∙ 11y agoNo- Clinton's law degree has never been in question. His license to practice law in AK was suspended for 5 years for misconduct but is now in good standing.
