The United Kingdom still has control of 14 territories world wide. Although the UK can fit into these territories 6 times over, what remains of the British Empire is a lot smaller than what it was. Its legacy and influence around the world is still very large.

Not actually, U.K. is a "Kingdom" in which a monarch takes command of the government, but it's a Constitutional Monarchy for UK (empires believe in Imperialism, GB/UK stopped doing that now). Revolutions really put the hurt on UK (GB during that time) and then renamed their Kingdom United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (now called Northern Ireland because of some religious dispute I think) somewhere in 1900. So the Brit technically still own some land, like a few islands in the Pacific (Picarin or something), and maybe small patches of land in Africa.

Overall, they technically still are an "empire" by definition, but they are a simple Kingdom. They lost so much land, but still, London is a very important world-wide city.

Britain still has gibralter and the Falkland isles but we still had a bigger empire than the yanks who didnt have 1

The definition of an empire is as follows:

a. A political unit having an extensive territory or comprising a number of territories or nations and ruled by a single supreme authority.

b. The territory included in such a unit.

2. An extensive enterprise under a unified authority

3. Imperial or imperialistic sovereignty, domination, or control

if you feel that England meets the requirements then so be it.

personally, no i don't think England is an empire. the UK as a whole used to control allot of land across the world but it relinquished some of its control and what was once an empire became the commonwealth if I am correct.
