The check engine light means that there is something not going right with the engine, but it may not be serious. Take it to Auto Zone or a small shop with the capability to read out the ODBII codes rather than go to the dealer. They'll plug it in and be able to tell you what error triggered the check engine light. I've had my light come on twice, neither time was it a serious problem. The first time was due to bad fuel, the second a minor electrical short in the air intake temperature sensor.
To let you know that some type of schedueled maintenance is due. Check the owner's manual or call a Honda Dealer.

Depending on the mileage on the car, there are some maintenance requirements to be done by you, or the car dealer. The maintenance light will stay "on" until these maintenace issues are completed. Your owner's manual also tells you how to reset the maintenance light, and outlines the maintenance required per the mileage on the car.
Check your owners manual it will tell how to shut it off or if it doesnt tell you then a dealer service dept. has to do it
means u need to take it to Honda dealer, many things can be wrong nothing specific
there's a test fixture you can either buy from the dealer, ugh, but if not you still have to go to the dealer and let them reset it. You might check with local repair shops that could do the resetting also. If it's the first time it has come on then you may need to have some routine maintenance done on it, in which case if you go to the dealer and have the maint. they will automatically reset it for you at not charge, otherwise they will charge you.
You get brake maintenance for your car by taking it to your dealer or a preferred mechanic or car maintenance specialist in your area. You can even try to do it yourself.
