Since latitudes run from zero to 90 degrees, and downtown Chicago's latitude

is roughly 42 degrees north, you'd have to call that "middle" latitude.

Is Japan in the low middle or high latitude zone?

Middle latitudes, mostly. The island of Okinawa is pretty close to the dividing line between "middle" and "low" latitudes.

What has a colder climate high latitudes or low latitudes?

places in low latitudes have hot climate and places in high latitude have cold climates because in high latitude its farther away from the equator which makes it colder.

What are the Three general regions of latitude?

Three climate regions based on latitude are low latitude, medium latitude, and high latitude. Low latitude is the hottest area in the earth. It is called the low latitudes because it is near the Equator which is 0 degrees. It only gets as high as 23.5 degrees north or south. It is sometimes referred to as the earth's band. It is in between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. It is hot all year. Medium latitudes are the in between regions of the world. It is called the middle latitudes because it is in between the high and low latitudes and has middle latitude degrees. They have four seasons and have both hot and cold weather. They range from the Tropic of Cancer to the North Pole and the Tropic of Capricorn to the South Pole. It is called the high latitudes because it has the highest latitudes of up to 90 degrees north or south The high latitudes range from The North Pole and up to the South Pole and lower.

What is a place in the low latitude?

Low latitudes are the latitudes between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. Portions of the low latitudes receive direct sunlight year round. Hope This Helps.

In the subtropics the saltiest water is generally at the surface, why?

What causes low salinity in the oceans at high latitudes? In subtropical latitudes, high surface evaporation creates high salinity near the sea surface. In subpolar latitudes, high precipitation creates low salinity near the sea surface. As these waters flow into the ocean interior, they create layers of high and low salinity.

What would happen to the high middle and low latitudes if the earth was not tilted on its axis?

i don't think the latitudes would even exist because i don't think they would matter.

Are the latitudes north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle called high middle or low latitude regions?

"High" latitudes. The equator has a latitude of zero. The area between the Tropic of Cancer (at 23.5 degrees north) and the Tropic of Capricorn (at 23.5 degrees south) are the "tropics" or low latitudes. The "polar regions" are above the Arctic Circle or below the Antarctic Circle, where the latitudes are higher than 66.5 degrees (north or south) are "high". The areas between the tropics and the arctic/antarctic are called "mid-latitudes or "temperate zones".

Low latitudes are the latitudes between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. Portions of the low latitudes receive direct sunlight year round. Hope This Helps.

Has Chicago ever had a temperature of -80?

No location in the mid-latitudes has had temperatures that low in recorded history.

What is the sofar layer?

At the low and middle latitudes, the SOFAR channel axis lies between 600-1200 meters below the sea surface. It is deepest in the subtropics, and it comes to the surface in high latitudes, where the sound propagates in the surface layer.
