well, because Chile is a rich country, and only 717 died in the earthquake, they probably got less than 10million, but the haiti earthquake is far more damaged, and haiti is one of the poorest country, so there houses were less developed
Because Haiti is a place where the buildings are made of sticks and bricks. Nothing there is well built. There were not prepared for a large earthquake. Chile is a place where the buildings and houses were well built and there bridges were made of strong stone and cement. They have had large earthquakes in the past and were very prepared for the this large earthquake.
Essentially "zero"; even the 100x more powerful Chile earthquake had only a very tiny effect.
They became more prepared to deal with them as they hadn't had an earthquake in years.
in Haiti of course. unless you mean what parts of Haiti then i don't know. you should be more specific in your question.
Chile's earthquake arrived at approximately 8.7! Haiti's earthquake struck at 7.6. Chile is more rich than Haiti so they have enough money to repair bulding and bridges and pay for the people who are in the hospital. As for Haiti, they are a very small, poor country and need America's help. So help Haiti now.
Chile but more people were killed in Haiti because the effected area was more densly populated.

homes in less developed countries are built more poorly than in developed countries. for example, when the earthquake struck haiti and shortly sfter there was a stronger earthquake in chile, haitis affect was much worse because of their building's structures.
it was actually 800 times more powerful, but with the close proximity that the Haiti earthquake struck to the major population center of Port Au Prince, combined with the lower quality of infrastructure in Haiti, this is why it caused so much more devastation.
Yes and No. The Feb 27 Chile quake released much more energy( 8.8 on the moment magnitude scale) while the Jan 12 2010 Haiti quake released 7.0 but the Haiti quake killed over 210 000 people while the Chile quake death toll will perhaps reach 1000.

yes, because haiti had a big earthquake recently.
The earthquake in Haiti was caused by movement on a transform boundary. For more information, please see the related question.
