The list apparently changes periodically, but China is not listed on any in the last 28 years. Those that are considered core countries are:

  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hong Kong
  • Iceland
  • Ireland
  • Israel
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Luxembourg
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • Singapore
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • United States
This is according to the book, Standardized Income Inequality Data for Use in Cross-National Research, by Salvatore J. Babones and Maria Jose Alvarez-Rivadulla, 2007.
