Coca-Cola had Cocaine long time ago but it had been removed (nearly a century ago). So it is not haram for that reason, since Coca-Cola uses denatured coca extract which has had all of the cocaine removed.

It is possible that haram substances such as ethanol (drinking alcohol) and pepsin (derived from pig intestines, but not always) are used to make soft drinks such as Coca-Cola. However, the general ruling is that these substances are transformed and don't have their original characteristics and are no longer haram. It is true that flavorings are dissolved in alcohol, but that usually evaporates during the processing. Concerning pepsin, that is often created in a laboratory these days and does not come from pigs or any other animal.

As for the tale about it saying something offensive or blasphemous in Arabic when viewed in a mirror, that is simply an urban legend.

One other consideration in whether a processed food is haram or not is the manufacturer's attitude toward Islam, the prophet (PBUH), and Allah.
