Eurofighter Typhoon has been designed and invented by the French. Answer: It was designed by an international consortium consisting of Germany, Italy and the UK. The French were invited to take part but wanted a lighter aircraft than the other 3 partners. France left the consortium and went on to design and build the Dassault Rafale.
These two aircraft are so close in most respects that the only valid assessment would come from someone who has flown both. -But I'd bet on the Typhoon coming out on top.
Dassault Rafale was created in 2000.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a 'canard' , that is, an aircraft that has an elevator or small wing AHEAD of the main wing. This is particularly obvious in the Typhoon, and it's competitor, Rafale,
Dassault Rafale is a French twin-engine fighter aircraft. In addition, it was built and designed by Dassault Aviation. Also, it is a multi-role fighter aircraft.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine, canard-delta wing, multirole fighter. The Typhoon was designed by a consortium of three companies, EADS, Alenia Aeronautica and BAE Systems, working through a holding company, Eurofighter GmbH, which was formed in 1986.The Typhoon's combat performance, compared to the F-22 Raptor and the upcoming F-35 Lightning II fighters and the French Dassault Rafale, has been the subject of much discussion. The Typhoon is a multi-role fighter with maturing air-to-ground capabilities. The absence of air-to-ground capability is believed to have been a factor in the type's rejection from Singapore's fighter competition in 2005. At the time it was claimed that Singapore was concerned about the delivery timescale and the ability of the Eurofighter partner nations to fund the current capability packages.

Yes. It is smaller, lighter, has better turn rate than most other aircraft out there - with possible exception of Gripen and Rafale - and has better weapons, sensors and EW suite.
