I consider seeing a dead bird, or crossing paths with a dead bird as a bad omen for sure.
I've had a terrible last couple months, and I've also seen more dead birds this summer than I've ever seen in my whole life.
I was working on a movie set when I saw the first one... a week later I lost my job. Then my apartment flooded in the floods of 08 here in the Midwest and I was forced to move, then my fiancee went to the hospital and stayed for a week due to a serious head injury.
I'm working right now, and I just went out for a cigarette... and bam, dead bird, right on the sidewalk. Maybe I'm paranoid, maybe I'm superstitious, maybe I just have really bad luck, but I strongly believe that dead birds are a bad omen.

∙ 14y ago: My pet bird (a cockatiel) died about a month ago now. I've been pretty torn up about it. I have been having horrible dreams about dying birds at least once a week since. Which at first I just related to my bird dying. But then I started seeing dead birds everywhere. Yesterday I was taking my dog for a walk and I almost stepped on a badly decaying baby bird. Five feet more and there's another dead bird. I got upset and started to cry. I ran to the other side of the street but I'm pretty sure it was a duck. This morning, I got up and started checking my email and a bird smacked into my office window really hard. It made me jump. I think it was ok, it flew off but making a lot of noise. : I also found a dead gopher in my backyard yesterday. Obviously not a bird but 3 dead animals in one day?? What is going on? : So my question is, normally I'm not superstitious but all of this added up is a little more than normal happen stance. Is this a bad omen? (This is my first time on Wiki so I didn't know where to post my whole question)

∙ 15y agoNot all naturally occurring phenomenon can or should be interpreted as an omen or sign from god (be that upper case singular or lower case plural). In this case I sincerely doubt there is any "sign" to be found.
