google gimpshop
The GIMP, GIMPshop, or Corel Paint Shop are all free programs like Photoshop
GIMP is free and supports all functions that you need to create a good design. GIMPShop is a GIMP skinning to look and function similar to Photoshop.
gimpshop - Gimpshop is a photoshop type GUI version of The Gimp. For creation attractive web-graphics you can also use Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Fireworks. If you need to make interactive animation for your site learn Adobe Flash. Hope that helps!
There are several builds of GIMP. each available for different operating systems. The ones on the main GIMP website are actually source code and binaries for Linux. There is a separate site for the Windows build, at least two different builds for Mac OS X, and the modified version known as GIMPShop, which is designed to resemble Photoshop. Links to each of these can be found in the "Related links" section below.
Gimp is nothing like Photoshop. It works with images in a way that is completely foreign to those familiar with Adobe-type products. It was as if it the program was designed by someone who had never had to actually manipulate an image professionally. If you're stuck on the Linux OS, but you need to work with images I would suggest looking at an app called "Pixel Image Editor". Also, there is a Gimp/Photoshop hack called "Gimpshop".
There isn't - which is an obscene idea. GIMP designers know BETTER what's convenient.
try gimp
They both seem very similar. I don't think it'd matter which one you get. Personally, I preffer GIMP due to the ease of use.
Probably, but not certainly, Photoshop. On the other hand, the Gimp is free, and is better at certain kinds of tasks. If you're trying to get a job as a graphic designer, then Photoshop, because it's an industry standard. If you're just doing it as a hobby, you might want to see if GIMP is "good enough" for you... chances are that it is.
It's a matter of personal opinion. Photoshop is probably used by more professional artists. On the other hand, the Gimp is free.
You can start Gimp by going to All Programs and selecting Gimp
