Also, there were more minor attacks. The Japanese tried attaching bombs to balloons, and setting them up so that they would drop over US soil and start fires and such. Other than killing a few people, the fire balloons did very little damage. German agents attempted to sabotage things like power plants and train tracks, but were largely foiled. Lastly, some Japanese and German ships (mainly submarines) fired at the mainland USA but generally did extremely little damage.
