Any discrimination against any group (LBGT, atheists, redhesds, racial communiites, other religions, etc.) based on the group you have assigned them to is essentially the same. It is based on a stereitype of the group, not the individuals in the group. It is not the result of any in depth understanding of the group.
Homophobia and Racism.
Yes
Sexual ethics, racism, sexism, homophobia
Homophobia is discrimination or prejudice against individuals who identify as homosexual, while racism is discrimination or prejudice against individuals based on their race or ethnicity. Both involve unjust treatment of individuals based on aspects of their identity, whether sexual orientation or race, but they are distinct in terms of the specific characteristics that are targeted.
Overcoming historical racism, sexism, and homophobia. War is problematic to a religion that prohibits killing.
Offensive personality traits include: selfishness, stupidity, hypocrisy, racism, sexism, and homophobia.
No. Gay people are not a race. Prejudice against gay people is called homophobia.
Homophobia, much like racism or sexism, does not violate anyone's rights by itself. However, acting on homophobic feelings may lead people to violate each other's rights in a variety of ways, most notably through hate crimes, but also through discrimination and hate speech.
One psychological explanation for homophobia is that it could stem from learned attitudes and beliefs from family, society, or culture. Additionally, it may be related to fear or discomfort with things that are different or unfamiliar, combined with prejudice and stereotypes. Personal insecurities and a need to conform to social norms could also play a role in the development of homophobia.
Homophobia literally means the fear of gay people. It used to be used to denote that someone hated gay people, but then people pointed out that it actually meant "fear of gay people," which many people who hated gays claimed not to have. Heterosexism is then the more accurate term for hating lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer identified people, regardless of whether one fears them or not. It is also more in keeping with similar words, like racism, ableism, sexism, and has the -ism at the end, which in general makes the word more profound and powerful. If something is an -ism that means that it is a real, widespread problem, so heterosexism is a more powerful word than homophobia.
"Homophobia" doesn't fit with the other two, but I'll answer anyways. Racism-I think people have the right to be racist, but anyone that IS racist is a moron. Sexism-Same as racism. They have the right, but they're stupid if they are sexist. "Homophobia"-People have the right to be "homophobic" (which isn't even usually an accurate term-implies that anyone that is against homosexuality has an "irrational fear" of them). Since there is still uncertainty as to which side is correct (the other two issues having been resolved), I don't think that the government should accept either side just yet-they shouldn't be for or against homosexuality just now until we as a people resolve the matter a bit more.
it was the same as today people do not like racism
