Best Answer

No.

It is caused by versions of a single gene on the short arm of chromosome 4. This gene contains a region in which the bases CAG repeat. In people without the disease, there may be about 11 to 34 repeats; if there are more than about 42 in either copy of the gene, Huntington's disease will set in. The more repeats, the earlier the onset.

When a trait has more than two alleles how is the trait inherited?

When more than two alleles are involved in the inheritance of a trait, it is called polygenic inheritance. Many quantitative characters have polygenic inheritance. Inheritance of blood groups is an example of polygenic inheritance in human being. When more than two alleles are involved in the inheritance of a trait, it is called polygenic inheritance. What would be your clue that a character would have polygenic inheritance pattern?

Polygenic inheritance shows a continuous variation. An example of polygenic inheritance is human skin because it has a variety of colors. An example of something not having polygenic phenotype is earlobes because they are either free or attached; there is no in-between state.

Is blood type an example of polygenic inheritance?

It is co dominance (AB)

Skin color in humans caused by several genes at several loci is an example of what multiple alleles at one locus incomplete dominance epostasis or polygenic inheritance?

polygenic inheritance

What occurs when a group of gene pairs act together to produce a single trait?

Polygenic Inheritance

Sickle cell anemia is an example of what type of inheritance?

polygenic inheritance . doug says " squirrel". hes a fat dog.

What is a trait or genetic disorder caused by Polygenic inheritance?

A polygenic trait is a trait which multiple genes affect. An example would be skin color, the combined affects of several genes determine your base pigment shade. Polygenic traits are caused by a combination of genes.

Is hand span an example of incomplete dominance?

i wanna know that too, or is it polygenic inheritance or a simple mendelian trait?

What is a trait called when it is controlled by more than gene?

Polygenic Traits

What is the interactive nature of polygenic genes?

Polygenic inheritance occurs when one characteristic is controlled by two or more genes. Often the genes are large in quantity but small in effect. Examples of human polygenic inheritance are height, skin color, eye color and weight. Polygenes exist in other organisms, as well.

How does polygenic inheritance differ from Mendelian inheritance?

polygenic inheritance is when more than one genes are responsible for a character/phenotype. for example human skin color. if one want to draw a pedigree for that, he will not be able to succeed. although individual genes at molecular level is inherited according to mendel's laws. and mendelian inheritance simply follows mendels laws. also the character is controlled by one gene only. for example pea plant height.

How does the environment play a role in the expression of traits controlled by polygenic inheritance?

As an example ... starve a baby and he'll be short, and probably dumber than if he had a good diet.
