However, we should admit that both religions, Christianity and Islam, are different only in some faith issues that are regarding the relationship between yourself and your God which is a matter to be resolved by God on the Day of Judgment.
It should be noted that Islam is an Arabic word that means submission to the Creator. In this sense Islam is the nature of all creations, alive and non alive, since start of universe creation. Islam is the call of all God prophets since start of mankind. Islam is the pure monotheistic religion that calls to worship one and only God without partner, without son, without father, and without companion. Islam per God revelation of The Bible to prophet Jesus (PBUH) is called Christianity and Islam per God revelation of the Quran to prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is called the very name Islam.
However, both religions are quite similar in all issues regarding relationships among all people. In reality, there are no differences between the two religions regarding the way that people of different religions should treat each other. This, logically and spiritually, calls all people to live together in love, peace, and harmony regardless their different religions or beliefs.
Christianity and Islam:
- Both are widely believed religions.
- Both believe in God's angels.
- Both believe in the last Day of Judgment.
- Both believe in Paradise/Heaven and Hell.
- Both believe that no one enters Paradise/Heaven by own deeds/merit but rather by God Mercy and forgiveness.
- Both believe in eternal life after earthly death.
- Both forbid adultery, robbery, unjustified killing, cheating and lying.
- Both religions are similar in practicing mutual respect to their believers. Quran says (meaning English translation): ".... You will find the nearest in love to Muslims those who say 'we are Christians'. That is because amongst them are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world and they are not arrogant. And when they listen to the Quran revelation received by the Messenger (Muhammad), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognized. ... So because of what they said, Allah (God) rewarded them ...."
[Quran, chapter 5, verses 82-86]
- Quran also says: (meaning English Translation):
" God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers."[Quran, chapter 60/ verse 8]
