Various answers from people of different faiths:

  • The answer to that question is a matter of faith, and while you will find the expression of many varying beliefs, you are not going to find a definitive answer to that question in this forum nor, perhaps, anywhere. Suffice it to say that some religions believe Jesus was the son of God, and some do not.
  • Who was Jesus Christ? Mark: He was the son of man. Matthew and Luke: He was the Son of God. John: He was God himself. In the Four Gospels are presented three entirely different conceptions of the Christ. In Mark he is represented as the son of human parents -- the Messiah -- but simply a man. In Matthew and Luke we have the story of the miraculous conception -- he is represented as the Son of God. In John he is declared to be God himself. "In the beginning was the Word [Christ], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (i, 1). According to Mark Christ is a man; according to Matthew and Luke, a demi-god; according to John, a God.
  • I believe that Jesus was a very smart prankster who fooled everyone into thinking he was great. And after he died the government decided to make money out of him and tell people he was son of god, and he was this all powerful man.
  • Most Christians believe that Jesus is God or son of God. Muslims believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is one of the greatest prophets and one of the greatest messengers of God to mankind. In Quran, holy book of Muslims, there is a complete chapter titled 'Maryam' (Mary) that confirms the Virgin Mary birth as God miracle by the word of God "be" and then "is". See related questions for more information.
  • According to several Christian teachings, yes.
  • Yes, Jesus is the Son of God.
  • God is the Heavenly father of Jesus. Mary and Joseph were his Earthly parents
  • Yes. Jesus is the very first being God created or the firstborn of all creation. Jesus is the only being God created solely by himself and is therefore also referred as being his only begotten son. All other things were created through Christ. Colossians 1:15 & 16.
  • God's logic is different from our logic ...God is one in 3......God is 3 in one.

God is Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Why? because he just is. There is no difference between them. He is all in one. He is not separated, because remember he is everywhere and anywhere. That means he can be in any dimension. That doesn't mean that he isn't real. Because of our logic, we don't know how something will be real and may not be in the universe. Also we don't even know how something like time and space is infinite. It just is. And that is my point. God is the son of himself. He was not created though.

What The Bible says is true. Do not question it, and do not change it, because it is an eternal sin to spread lies about God. :\ And you will not be forgiven.

  • Yes, Jesus is the Son of God. He was once in heaven with God, and Jesus wanted to put on human form, go to earth, and be the living sacrifice. God didn't really want him to, because think, would you want to send your only son down to die? But God eventually allowed Jesus to go. God chose Mary to give birth to Jesus. You can read about the birth of Jesus Christ in Matthew 1:18-25. There are also times in the Bible when God would talk to Jesus. Go to church and you will learn so much more. You must have faith to believe this, you must accept Jesus Christ in to your heart, admit that your a sinner, believe that Jesus is the Son of God, believe that he died for us and rose from the dead 3 days later, and most of all, you must love the Lord, your God with all your heart, soul, and mind!
  • There are, of course, many beliefs about the nature of God, and about the role that Jesus Christ plays in the state of all things. So anything anyone placed on here with reference to this question is only belief and opinion: there is nothing factual on this question from an earthly verifiable stance. Although we can apply intelligent reason to the topic with the little that we know, most, concerning God, is a position of Faith. My position is that Jesus was/is the Son of God ... that He, God the Father and the Holy Ghost are separate and distinct members that together comprise "God", or the 'Godhead' ... that they are one in 'mind' and purpose or in total agreement upon all things. To the end that they are one and in total agreement and in harmony with one another, they are One God. They rule the heavens and all things in existence. Jesus, as God's Son, created all things by Word of His mouth, regardless of what development process was used. Although we may all be children of God in spirit, Jesus was the only one born to God in the flesh. He is, therefore, the Only Begotten of the Father 'in the flesh'. His mother was Mary, from whom He received power to die/lay down His life; His Father was God, the very Eternal Father, from whom He inherited the power to take up His life again. Thus, He was resurrected on the third day after his crucifixion, and rules from the Heavens. He is alive as an Immortal Glorified Being to this day and will return to the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, as Promised, in the not-too-distant future.
  • Yes, Jesus Christ is the true son of the living God.
  • He is the father, son, and holy spirit. It may seem impossible, but the Lord can do anything, and this is just one of the billions of amazing things that he can do.
  • If you are a Christian the answer is Yes, if you are not a Christian you may have another thought about the matter but the Bible clearly states That every every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This includes everyone. John chapter one states:

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome"

It is up to you to believe what is written in the Bible or not. I do.

  • He is the father, son, and holy spirit. It may seem impossible, but the Lord can do anything, and this is just one of the billions of amazing things that he can do.
  • here are some objective evidence to believe Christ is indeed the Son of God as He claimed to be:
    • there were prophecies written before Christ time about His coming, his birth, his death.. Even the Jews who don't believe Christ as the Son of God believe in the Old Testament which these prophecies are recorded.
    • There are supernatural phenomenon (science cannot explain but they are there) such as demon possessed every corner of the earth even before these civilizations have any communication with one another. And when Christ came on earth He casted out demons and His followers to the present day continue to cast out demons in the name of Christ. How do you explain the fact missionaries went to tribal people far off in the jungle somewhere where no one ever heard of Christ and where there are demon possessed being and started to cast out these demons using the name of Christ. Yes there are supernatural evidences and the fact that these demons subject themselves to the name of Christ is an objective evidence that Christ is who He claimed to be.
    • Christ was a historical figure. He was not a legend or a story someone created. And He claimed to be the Son of God. On a normal day any person on earth would regard anyone's claim to be the son of God as hoax. Many others have made similar claims and they perished and forgotten but not Christ. If any person claims himself to be the son of God that person would be and should be regarded as a fool, a deceit person. But Christ made this outrageous claim to be the Son of God and people still follow Him even to their death to proclaim His death and resurrection. Would you be willing to die to proclaim something which you know not true?
  • Muslim's Belief:
    • In Islam religion, Jesus (peace be upon him) is believed as one of the five greatest prophets and messengers of God to mankind; namely prophets Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).
    • Maryam ( or Mary) the mother of Jesus is the only woman that is honored and mentioned explicitly in the Quran. Even prophet Muhammad wives and or mother or other relatives are not mentioned explicitly in Quran. There is a complete full chapter (or Surah) titled 'Maryam' (Mary) that confirms Maryam virgin birth. The Quran states the following on the birth of Jesus (peace be upon him): {(Remember) when the angels said, "O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God). He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous." She said, "My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?" He said, "So (it will be). God creates what He wills. If He decrees a thing, He says to it only, 'Be!' and it is."} (Quran, chapter 3, verses 45-47)
    • Jesus was born as miracle by the word and command of God. This command is, as said in Quran, the same command that had brought Adam into being with neither a father nor a mother. God has said in Quran: {The case of Jesus with God is like the case of Adam. He created him from dust, and then He said to him, "Be!" and he came into being.} (Quran, chapter 3, verse 59)
    • During the prophetic mission of Jesus (peace be upon him), Jesus performed many miracles by the will of God (the Creator). God tells us that Jesus said: {I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you the shape of a bird out of clay, I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God's permission. I heal the blind from birth and the leper. And I bring the dead to life by God's permission. And I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses....} (Quran, chapter 3, verse 49)
    • Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified. They believe that the enemies of Jesus (peace upon him) plotted and planned to crucify Jesus. However, God miraculously saved Jesus and raised him up to Him (to God). God, the all Powerful and the all Capable, put the likeness of Jesus (peace upon him) over another man. The enemies of Jesus (peace upon him) thought that the this other man is Jesus and they took him and crucified him. God has said: {...They said, "We killed the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God." They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but the likeness of him was put on another man (and they killed that man)... } (Quran, chapter 4, verse 157)
    • Muslims believe in Jesus Christ and that he will be back to earth before the Resurrection Day and call people to worship God (the Creator) as the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no father, no companion, no associate, and no equivalence.
    • Quran says (meaning English translation): "And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah (or God and same God worshiped in Christianity and Judaism) to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad (or Muhammad the prophet." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic." (61:6)
    • Quran says also that: "They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers. They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded. " (5:72-75)
    • It is worthy to emphasize that both Jesus (peace upon him) and Mohamed, or may be spelled Muhammad, (peace upon him) came to mankind to call for worshiping only and the only one God. Neither of them nor Moses came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one and only God. this doctrine that was brought by earlier prophets from including Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon, and others. both Jesus (peace upon him) and Muhammad received the revelation from God to confirm and renew the doctrine of worshiping one (and only one) God.
