∙ 13y agoMost Chrysler transmissions do not have a drain plug.
ATF+4 is an Automatic Transmission fluid but it is possible that it is used in some Chrysler Manual Transmissions. Check your owner's manual or call a Chrysler dealer to be sure.
ATF+4 is automatic transmission fluid specifically engineered to protect and prolong the life of Chrysler automatic transmissions.
All Chrysler four-speed automatic transmissions are very sensitive to the quality of the transmission fluid. Only use Chrysler ATF+[3 or 4] in these transmissions. Do not use Dexron or Mercon, no matter what the manual or dip stick says.
Chrysler doesn't use drain plugs on they're transmissions. so it isn't there
Take it to your friendly Chrysler dealer. Checking the transmission fluid level on newer Chrysler transmissions require a special tool in addition to an OBDII scan tool.
All Chrysler 5th Aves from that era had A904 3-speed auto transmissions
The transmissions get small improvements every couple of years. 1992, 1996, 2001, etc
A-604 is the only transmission that can be used from 90-93
No. the trucks with beds have Chrysler transmissions. The cab/chassis truck has an Aisin trans.
You can use ATF+3 with all older Chrysler transmissions. Do not use ATF+4 Dexron, Mercon, or any other fluid.
Do NOT use transmission fluid in your power steering. It is designed for automatic transmissions, and a few rare manual transmissions only. (1965 Plymouth "Slant Six" manual transmission used automatic transmission fluid). In most Chrysler products made after about 2002, ATF is what they use for power steering fluid.
