Mg(BrO3)2 is magnesium bromate. Yes, it is a salt, but when hydolyzed in water, it will have a pH that is slightly basic. Why? Because it is formed from the reaction of a strong base, Mg(OH)2 and a somewhat weak acid HBrO3. Thus, a solution of this salt will have a pH >7

I think it is a weak alkali because it has magnesium oxygen and hydrogen. I have got an exploring science book next to me and it says the elements are weak. Trust me I may be only 13 but I go to the 10th best Grammmar School in England. And I had to take a test to get in. Let me know if I am correct Thanks X
