It is urease positive .It possesses the enzymes urease which hydrolyses urea to form ammonia. As a result the pH of the medium used for detection of urease enzyme (Urea Broth) increases and shows bright pink colour, since phenol red is bright pink in alkaline conditions.

Negative, something like Micrococcus Luteus would be positive. If positive the it means the urea can produce pneumonia with the bacteria and the broth would turn a hot pink color. We had to test seven different organisms and the Urea broth was one of the test.

It should be positive because S. aureus will partially hydrolyze urea and raise the pH so if the pH is raised, a color change should occur thus making your results positive
