NBC Universal Television Entertainment Chairman Jeff Gaspin said Sunday that Leno's nightly prime-time show will end with the beginning of the Winter Olympics on Feb. 12.
Gaspin says NBC wants Leno to do an 11:35 p.m. show each night, a return to his old time slot. He wants Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon's shows to shift back a half hour. Gaspin says that's not a done deal, but he hopes to have NBC's late-night lineup cleared up by the beginning of the Olympics.
Jay Leno (b. April 28, 1950) is a talk show host. Starting in 1992, he was the host of NBC's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. In 2009, Leno left The Tonight Show to be replaced by Conan O'Brien. He then launched a new NBC show called The Jay Leno Show. When O'Brien left the network in 2010 due to a timeslot conflict, Leno returned to The Tonight Showwhere he currently is.

NBC, it's typically Channel 3.
Responding to numerous reports -- and even hints from the man himself -- that The Jay Leno show was in danger of being canned, NBC has issued a statement saying it is not cancelling the comic's one-hour prime time show. NBC's statement read: "Jay Leno is one of the most compelling entertainers in the world today. As we have said all along, Jay's show has performed exactly as we anticipated on the network. It has, however, presented some issues for our affiliates. Both Jay and the show are committed to working closely with them to find ways to improve the performance." James Hibberd, writing on his blog The Live Feed over at The Hollywood Reporter, says "this is less supportive sounding than one might have expected. It's not saying NBC is committed to airing the show, but rather committed to improving its performance. Sources say that means more format tweaks might be coming to Leno Show, which debuted as a talk show/variety show hybrid and has gradually shifted to closer resemble Leno's previous Tonight Show format."
He certainly did. There was a movie made about Dave Letterman and Jay....His "stunt" was acted out in the movie, where he hid in a closet.

Jay Leno's first 'last' episode was May 29, 2009, his second and real last episode was February 6, 2014.
Jay Leno's Tonight Show ended in 2014 however, The Tonight Show has aired on NBC since its debut in 1954. You'll have to check your local listings for numerical position.
Yes. NBC bought out Conan's contract for roughly $40M.
Jay Leno's Contract with NBC expires in Dec 2009. NBC would have to renew their contract for 2010 and so on. NBC did not like being placed on a compromising situation like they had when David Letterman left to CBS. So to minimize damage control, and not give Jay the power for a ridiculous demands (A new chin?) they decided to remove Jay's star power by pre-emptively putting him on the bench and giving the Tonight Show to Conan O'Brien. Jay's last day on the Tonight Show is May 29,2009
Not yet but all indications are, with Leno going five days a week in the hour before news, poor ratings and virtually no promotion by the network, the series will in all likelihood be cancelled. Shame. Its canceled :( This is outrageous!!! Life was one of the best series on TV and they are canceling it. NBC is clearly heading towards its doom. I hope Jay Leno fails majorly.
The NFL on NBC pregame show was created in 2006.
