Synthetics are to good at lubricating and should be used after the rings have properly seated. So run a good non-synthetic the Castrol GTX. Royal Purples advice on the subject is as follows. Royal Purple recommends waiting until the manufacturer's first scheduled oil change or a minimum of 2,000 miles in new gasoline engines before using Royal Purple. Allow 8,000 to 10,000 miles before use in diesel engines." Next why 15W-40 that engine if Gasoline it calls for a 5W-30 or 10W-30. A lower weight oil like 5W-30 would get you better gas mileage. I can see 15W-40 as the mileage on the engine gets up there or it was a Diesel. Hope This Helps.
