However, one of the problems with Spain is that the country is in debt. The latest figures I've seen (from June 2011) show that Spain was in a debt at 84% of its GDP. Now, this actually is not that high compared to other European countries (UK - 360%, Luxembourg - 3,443%, Belgium - 266%, etc.). This debt totals out to be about 2,570 million US dollars, which compared to other countries is quite a lot due to the size of the Spanish economy.
