In spite of it's outward appearance, The Bible is not homophobic. Homosexuality was only identified very recently in the last century by Sigmund Freud, in Biblical days, it was naturally assumed that everybody was heterosexual. That is why it has taken so long for gays to gain acceptance, because they were only identified very recently, and in the Bible, homosexual actions were likened to crimes such as burglary, murder or rape. As a matter of fact, the Bible does not condemn homosexual actions as it is, the reason that many modern-day Christians believe otherwise is due to a series of gross misinterpretations of the Bible.
Only seven verses in the Bible of around a million have anything to say about men lying with men, or women lying with women, while Jesus himself never said anything about gays, neither did St. Paul or any of the apostles.
