on an automatic yes replace filter and flush and fill recommended every 30,000 miles but every 60,000 is fine
On a Standard you should do it at 100,000 just to get the old oil out and put clean oil in so your car loves you more
You should not flush 1995 Honda Accord transmission fluid. Transmission fluid should be taken to the appropriate dumping site and disposed of there.
I think,no,it will not be required
The 98 Honda accord holds about 3 quarts of transmission fluid. If you are performing a flush, however, you will need about 5 quarts.
The transmission may need a flush and filter, or in my 92 accord I solved the problem merely by changing the transmissions computer.
Do you mean flush the oil (not recommended) or flush the coolant?
There is no external filter for the transmission nor is there a pan/sump. Also do not "flush" transmission fluid on this model, the small screens, filter internally will become restricted and cause fluid temp to rise
Coolant is flushed from the radiator of a 1997 Honda Accord by opening the petcock and allowing the system to drain. The petcock is then closed, the system filled with water, and a flush added to the radiator to cleanse the system.
check power steering oil. if the oil is dirty and burnt ,yaes it needs flush otherwise no power steering does not need flushing unless there is a problem
Sorry, I do not know. You just pull a drain plug to drain the transmission. To flush the transmission, he needs to drain the transmission, remove a cooler line, run the engine while filling the transmission so the torque converter can discharge any contaminated fluid. Your fluid must have shown sign of overheating for him to suggest that. Good/smart mechanic. Need more like him.
Honda Automatic transmissions use an internal filter that is designed for the life of the transmission. It is extremely rare that one would have to be changed. Also do not do a power flush on a Honda transmission as it will ruin the internal seals.
To do a transmission flush, first read the manual to your car. You will find out when you will need to do a transmission flush and how to do a flush.
Use only Honda brand ATF-Z1 transmission fluid. There is no substitute, no matter what anyone tells you. Use another fluid and you will experience shifting problems. I would find a Honda dealer with a Wynns trans flush machine and have the trans flushed. This is the only way to remove all the fluid. Change the fluid every 50,000 miles.
