No, it is not better than the Vista version in my opinion. But, it is a good download for WMM (Windows Movie Maker) Vista users to have, just in case something messes up with their 2.6 version.
In Windows Live Movie Maker, you cannot change from the Storyboard to Time-line view, --- both are displayed together instead. Also, there is no option to "Take a Picture from Preview" as there is in v2.6.
Windows Live Movie Maker mimics the MS Office 7 theme, with a large 'Ribbon' type menu for tasks. Icons replace text-only menus/tasks, making the program more visually appealing. The only draw-back to this type of ribbon theme, is that you constantly have to cursor to the top bar for tasking instead of the customary left-set menu.
I have (and use) both the Vista v2.6 of WMM and Windows Live Movie Maker. But, if asked which one I prefer, I'd have to go with the Vista v2.6.
:)
In my opinion, Windows Movie Maker v2.6 is best. But, if you have Windows Xp, the only Movie Maker version the operating system supports is v2.1.
The latest version of Windows Movie Maker is v2.6 (for Vista).
Yes, you can.I have both the 2.6 version of Windows Movie Maker and Windows Live Movie Maker.
No. The latest version of Windows Movie Maker is v2.6 for Vista. However, there is an alternative download (for Vista and Windows 7 users) of Movie Maker called: Windows Live Movie Maker.
Yes, you can.I have both the 2.6 version of Windows Movie Maker and Windows Live Movie Maker.
Windows 7 Movie Maker is actually Windows Live Movie Maker which is a stripped-down version of Windows Movie Maker 2.6. It does not have all the features and functionality of the 2.6 version... including a Timeline.
Nope. Can't do that in Windows Live Movie Maker (for Windows 7). Windows Live is a stripped-down version of the Vista 2.6 Movie Maker. Not a lot of features or functionality with Windows Live version. Sorry.
If you are using Windows 7 Movie Maker, it is a Windows Live Essentials version of the Windows Movie Maker 2.6 version. It is a 'stripped-down' version with limited features and functionality. Bottom line - you can't do much with Windows Live Movie Maker, including insertion of WordArt.
The Mac version of Windows Live Movie Maker is iMovie. It usually comes with the Macs
You need to configure your computer to open files from an earlier version Windows Movie Maker.
You can download and install Windows Live Movie Maker (which is the newest version out). However, that version does not have all the features and functionality of the 2.6 version.
If you are asking whether there is a newer version of Windows Movie Maker for XP operating systems, the latest version is v2.1.Newer version of Windows Movie Maker do exist (such as v2.6 and Windows Live Movie Maker) but they are only for Vista operating systems.
