No, a marine engine is going to use corrosion resistant components in the cooling system and the freeze plugs. Also, the camshaft will be designed to meet the different power needs of a boat as compared to a car or truck. A car engine to run be used for the majority of the time at half or less of the RPM that it red lines at, where a marine engine is most likely going to be derated to run at "top speed" for the majority of the time which wil be well under the red line RPM of an automotiv engine.
nope

No, it would not be able to handle engine braking.
The Ford 302 engine is a very popular one that was used in many Ford cars from 1968 to 2001 including the Mustang, the 1968 Ford Shelby GT 350 and the Lincoln Continental town car.
I can't recall any Chevy using a 302. It was the classic Ford small block used in early Mustangs. Chevrolet did produce a small block 302 used exclusively in the 1967 - 1969 Camaro Z/28.
that is a 302 small block engine. -------------------------------------------------------------- For a Ford ( GM calls their 305 cubic inch a 5.0 liter )
A car engine is a heat engine, but there are various types of heat engines outside the realm of car and truck engines.
