Well, it really depends on how your physical body is built at the time you run it. For example, if you are overweight and try to run 4 miles i don't think that is a great thing for you to do ... if you are seemingly skinny or lightweight i wouldn't recommend running that distance until you put on some weight because you don't want to lose fat or you will end up looking like a stick with eyes.. :P :) but if you are an average person with average muscles and run 4 miles or any other distance yes it is great for you. terrain is also a major factor. Anyway if you are an inexperienced runner i would say build up from a mile to 2 miles and make it like stairs to reach your goal. if you run on a normal basis then go for it but just make sure you bring water because you will get thirsty after that run.
Yes, it's about the best treat you can give to your body.
It's a retardedly fast pace. For perspective, a car going 60 miles per hour drives one mile a minute. That's a sustained 15mph run which most of the world isnt capable of reaching.
There are four quarters in a mile run.
a mile should be ran in 7 minutes or so. if you're in pretty good shape.
The first sub four minute mile was run May 6, 1954 by Roger Bannister of Great Britain in Oxford, England.

The first sub four minute mile was Roger Banister's run in the 50's. Walking is about 17 mts. A 6 min. mile is good and dependant on the age group anything from 10 mts. down is the norm. George
