Yes it is better than many other routers that will work. The ones I see on an Amazon search in 5 different models are way better than the one I have which is just a Cisco Linksys wrt160n wireless n router. PS3 has wireless G so you are actuall going to be buying a better router than the PS3 can use with most wireless routers. Software upgrades can not change G to N or better so the PS3 can not change as a complete system to wireless n. If you are planning a wired system like I am using for the PS3 then your router purchase can be less than the Cisco-Linksys WRT160N Wireless-N Broadband Router I purchased at Best Buy on sale for $80 that is available today from Amazon.com for $47 with no taxes and free shipping. the PlayStation Sony Style shows the NETGEAR Home Theater internet Connection Kit for the PS3 for $149.99 and available from amazon for $122.26 that uses a system to use electrical plugs instead of wires throughout your house which is also an option
