yes. in top speed. the blaster is much quicker off the bottom though, being lighter and being a two stroke. they both have very different powerbands. if you know how to lock in the powerband of the blaster you can keep up, but not win. in my opinion a blaster is much funner to ride though because its light and snappy, and costs much less for mods and you will get much more hp for your money. the tops speed of a warrior is about 65 mph (stock) and the top speed of a blaster is about 60 (stock) with 150 pound rider.

In most cases, the blaster is faster than the Ex, despite the Blaster having 100ccs less than the Ex, it is a 2-stroke which makes it more agile. Stock for stock, the blaster wins. With modded vehicles it could vary. For what I've seen, a full stock blaster is still faster than a slighty modded Ex. It also depends on the rider, too, and the way they shift. Year difference can matter too, like an 89 Blaster vs an 04 Ex, a 15 year old differnce means possible engine problems from age, and less speed. Basically, it depends on many different factors, and what you like to think. Personally Im a Yamaha guy so my thoughts are also torward the Blaster, but not entirely. It just all depends.

Will a Yamaha Banshee motor fit a Yamaha Blaster?
A banshe motor is larger than a blaster motor. Will it fit (in the frame) yes, is it a easy fit no. The mounts used for a blaster motor will not match for a banshee motor. You will have to weld in mounts for the motor to sit, which would include lining up the sprockets. We could discuss further if need be. I've owned both and with both vehicles running good, a Honda is faster, especially the 1985 and 1986 Honda 250r's with liquid cooling. The Kawasaki Tecate was faster than both the Honda and Yamaha.
