a f-250 has a 3/4 ton rateing and a f-350 has a 1 ton rateing unless they have changed it. in Chevrolet 1500 is 1/2 ton, 2500 is 3/4 ton and 3500 is a 1 ton.
a standard f250 pickup is a 3/4 ton pickup,so the weight would be 3/4 of one ton
The Ford F250 is a 3/4 ton truck and the F150 is a 1/2 ton truck. The main purpose for these differences, is pointing out the towing capabilities for each truck. The major difference between the F150 and F250 is size and power. The F250 has a more powerful drivetrain and can tow and haul more cargo.

The answer is in the question - one ton. above is wrong a one ton truck is called a one ton truck as it is built to carry one ton in weight what the truck actually weighs depends on the size of the vehicle

A Ford F-250 is a 3/4 ton truck ( Ford F-150 is 1/2 ton / Ford F-350 is a one ton )
the f350 by a long shot EDIT: for the nab that wrote this you must not own one...the only difference between my F350 and my F250 same crew cab, same short bed, same 7.3L!!! The only difference is the 350 has stronger leafs and 2 more leafs in the back leaf-springs than the 250 so not by a long shot.... and which is y the 350 is a 1 ton truck if its SRW or a 1 1/4 ton truck if its dually. and the 250 is a 3/4 ton truck both ways SRW or DRW
A one ton truck such as a Chevy C-30 or a Ford F 350 is designed to safely carry one ton.
Sorry I don't have any specifics for you, but look for the Ford Light Truck Shop Manual for 1986 (eBay has 'em for $30).
