no don't do that I had one and when it gets dirty in the kitchen it can get full of black mold and soon you might be eating the mold.
Fish tanks in kitchens are great for keeping your fish alive and fresh, before you cook them.
If the fish have a decorative purpose rather than being intended as food, then the kitchen is not the most logical place to display them. However, it's your house. You are allowed to decorate it as you see fit.
