Best Answer

When jousts were held as trials of martial strength and ability, no being a jouster was not a job. The actual job was a knight, who would use a joust to both prove his skill with a lance as well as win accolades and settle fueds.

Currently, there may be some people whose official job title is "jouster"; these would likely be individuals who are involved with the tourism industry around castles and other significant historical structures from medieval Europe.

What is the description of a joust?

There are several distinct forms of jousting, While each involve men on horseback, each require different equipment - Namely, distinctively shaped lances and helmets - and engaged it's riders in a different format. The forms included all'incontro, which was competed between two horsemen, alla barriera, in which two contestants, separated by a fence, charge one another, all'anello di bersaglio, in which the changing jouster attempted to grab a ring, alla quintana, in which the jouster charged a dummy made to resemble a human figure, often attached to a fence, and al saraceno, in which the bust of an armed warrior was placed on a column in the middle of the field.-From an Italian cultural historian by the name of Lasansky, D. What was Henry Henry VIII talented at?

When he was a young man Henry was a great dancer, musician & composer. He was also great at sports (he invented a new sport that was similar to tennis). He also enjoyed hunting and was a fantastic jouster. But as he grew older, he put on more weight and couldn't carry on with most of these things.

What sports did Henry VIII take part in?

He was an avid hunter, as well as a jouster. (Riding horses carrying big sticks otherwise known as lances.) He was even severly injured during one of these jousting matches. Many historians believe it was this brush with death that made Henry fixate on fathering a male heir to the throne.
