Total for all three sections? That was a pretty good score on the old SAT. That is below average on the new SAT. The average score is around 1520 out of a possible 2400, according to Spark Notes.

If you want to get a high score, you have to play good and avoid 'the bad things' in the game. Make sure you read instructions before you play a game that needs a good score to maybe pass to a new level. Do what the instructions tell you to do to get a good score.
There are currently three categories of 800 points each. Therefore, 2400 points. That's in every place that uses SATs.
Sorry to break it to you but not a chance, you pretty much need at least a 4.0 and 2150+ on the SAT, and on top of that a bunch of extracirculars, volunteer hours, work experience, etc... So if you have a 3.7 GPA try to pull a 2250 to have a chance
For the old SAT, a 1270 SAT score is on the low end of the spectrum. The average SAT score is around 1500. For the New SAT, out of 1600 the score would be significantly better. This score using the new test corresponds to a 1780 in the old SAT out of 2400.

The new test is out of 2400 points, 1500 is about average. "Is it a good score?" This is the wrong question to be asking. Instead, look at the average scores reported by the schools you plan on applying to. Does your score fall into those ranges? A good score will enable you to attend the school you want to attend. Remember, if your score is lower than a school's reported averages it is important to compensate for that low score in other areas of your application like GPA and your personal statement. It varies. Perfect SAT scores have been rejected from Columbia. Low SATs are here and I know some of them. But GPA are all high. The SATs are not everything anymore. GPA is still a big factor. A 3.6 and lower will not get you in. A 3.8-3.9 is the average. A 4.0 is very common among accepted students. Good Luck
