The word "tranny" can be an abbreviation (usually offensive) for the word transvestite. It means someone who enjoys dressing up like the opposite gender. It is usually applied to men who dress up in women's clothing, but can also be used for women.
It's something you wouldn't even say if you liked the person, and you shouldn't use the word unless you are purposely trying to offend or mock someone, which, obviously, we shouldn't be doing.
It can also be the abbreviation for the transmission of a car. In that case, we don't usually refer to car parts as having gender, so I would say no.

manual tranny's take gear oil not tranny fluid. you need to get all that fluid out and fill the tranny with 80/90 weight gear oil
