The weight of a turtle has no direct correlation to it's gender.
The sex of a turtle is not determined by its pattern. It is usually determined by the shape of the underside of the shell. A male turtle usually has a somewhat concave bottom shell, while a female turtle's bottom shell is more flat. Another method to determine the sex of a turtle is by the shape of the tail. The tail of a male is usually wider and "stubbier" than that of a female turtle. See link below for further information. It includes pictures demonstrating the differences between male and female turtles/tortoises.
their tail...long male...short female
Note: you can't really tell the sex of a turtle until after it's a baby. Male map turtles are about 1/3 the size of their females. Male map turtles have a concave under shell. Female map turtles have a convex under shell.
Generally a male turtle will have a concave plastron ("belly" part of the shell) for mounting the female. Males will also have a slightly larger base on their tail for housing the gonads.
Here are a few differences: -A human skeleton is located on the inside of the body and a turtle shell is located on the outside. -A skeleton protects and supports whereas a shell protects and camoflages the turtle. -A skeleton needs exercise and calcium to say healthy and a shell needs a UVB light.
Boy: Longer Claws and the little spots on the bottom of their shell has less spots and more space,Oval shell, bottom of shell kinda caves in the center, Girl:rounder shell than the boy, bottom of shell is smooth and flat, more spots at the bottom of her shell than the boy
A male ornate box turtle can be easily distinguished from a female by it's red eyes, the female's being brown, it's plastron or bottom shell is curved inward, in order to be able to mount the female shell, and the male tail is longer and thicker than a female.
I do not know!! heheh
If you have a turtle i can show you how you can tell sea turtles apart by gender....if not then find a picture of a sea turtle turned on its back.... IF YOU HAVE A SEA TURTLE PLEASE READ BELOW: Turn over your turtle and you should see its tail with a dot on the bottom. If the dot is at the top of the tail like up close to its shell it is female....if it has a dot lower from its shell it is a male sea turtle. BECAREFUL NOT TO DROP THE TURTLE PLEASE ;) It is called a Cloaca by the way. Hope this helped for all you turtle lovers out there.
An alligator could eat a turtle in its shell, and a shark could eat a sea turtle in its shell.
As with any turtle the turtle shell is called CARAPACES.
A sea turtle has an external shell.
