Generally a shy and quiet person isn't ALWAYS shy and quiet. They could just have a hard time around other people or don't HAVE to talk all the time like some people feel the need to. But when they are comfortable with who they are with and where they are, then their real personality comes out. So I think being shy and quiet means that there is a lot to a person that you don't know about and that you should get to know the person better. If you don't then you could miss out on a great person.
