This is exactly the same argument as the mobile phone.
The modern computer allows young people to access inappropriate websites much more easily, whether this is pornography or social networking sites. It is evident that young people in today's world like the idea of being able to talk to friends over the internet, but it is not always right. Some teenagers talk to strangers on the Internet, and sometimes they arrange to 'meet up', this may cause the teenagers to meet people who they wouldn't necessarily be friends with. This may also lead to, stereotypically, teenage girls meeting with older men who they don't know and may be abused.
Overall the modern computer is both a blessing and a curse, it allows long-distance relationships, but also allows bad things to happen.
Hope this helps! :)
It's another serpent in the garden but worse because we put it there ourselves.
Actually, a computer is neither a curse nor a blessing in and of itself. A computer can be whatever we make it to be. The same computer that spreads filth and pornography can be used to communicate with missionaries and send prayer requests. The same computer that sends lies about someone else can be used to help gather evidence to get someone who is falsely accused out of prison. The same computer that is used to order inappropriate things by mail can be used to order food to send to needy neighbors.
So ultimately, if there is a curse, it is not the computer, but the human who uses it.
