Well, it depends on how you define Nationalism. Liking our country isn't bad at all, but when we start thinking we are better... that our country is the only good country and that people in other countries are bad... then we have a tendency to treat people from other countries poorly. Then, if we go even further and think that our country should be in charge of all the other countries, and that those other people don't matter, then we are likely to start wars and not worry about killing or harming people in war. So, that's why it can turn bad.
