But sharing a file that is the copyright of someone else is not, unless you have permission from the copyright owner to do so.
Obviously one can share a file you have created with someone else. But it is illegal to copy and share many commercial programs and files, including music downloads, pictures etc.

∙ 13y agoDepends what type of file it is, if it is a TORRENT file, it usually is. Sharing movies, TV shows, and game files IS ILLEGAL. But sharing documents and pictures is okay :)
