Back in the sixties and seventies, sodas used to be a part of the diet but somewhere, somehow, we lost control of how much we drink. The serving sizes increased as well as the frequency we drank them. Among children and teens, milk and water consumption decreased while soda became the beverage of choice for fluids. With the increased incidence of obesity and Diabetes among school children, it is worth considering reducing the amount of sodas we drink to help reverse this trend. The last thing we need is to propel the kids and teenagers into the future with an increased risk of health problems and issues. While soda drinking is not the only diet trend that has negatively impacted our health, it is one that can contribute to our health problem and at the same time, offer nothing to help solve the problem. If we choose to drink sodas, they should be included in the fringe of our diets rather than at the center of our diet. Why? Because they have only simple carbohydrates and perhaps a little sodium and/or caffeine to contribute. Sodas are not needed to achieve good health; they just entertain our taste buds. Schools should be a place that educates kids and teens for the future. Teaching this generation how to read, write, think and make healthy choices has fallen into the laps of schools. As a result, a soda-vending-machine free environment is ideal to support this venture.
The answer above is BULL!!! If they want to improve kids health they need to learn how to cook because that strokes-on-a-stick they call corndogs are unhealthy and just plain NASTY! That is what should be changed. Did they change it? No! The meat they serve kids now a days is worse than fast food!
P.S. Ausjia Perlow is awesome!!
its good to have snack machines in schools because then the student body wouldn't have to worry about having to bringing snacks from home it would also be a good thing because it would to raise money for the schools the students could have more field trips than usual. so i personally think that it would be a good thing to have snack machines in all of the schools through out the entire world.
The issue of vending machines in schools has been controversial for parents, school officials and the government for years. Some schools only have healthy foods in the vending machines, some machines hold no soda, and some schools turn off the machines during lunch hours. The change affects the way kids in school eat and drink. Having vending machines in schools helps in many ways besides feeding the kids.
Having feelings is a good thing:)
It is because there is shorter lines and schools can charge them for staying there
IT depends on what you mean by "good." If by good you mean in terms of financial gain then yes, soda machines are good for schools. But there is also the other side to the coin in which people need to buy the soda in order for the school to make any money from it. And this is where the problem comes up. Students typically are the primary consumers for the sugary drinks, imagine that. This in the long run, can cause health problems for the students. So one could say soda machines are "good" for schools because who cares about the health of the students anyway, right? Certainly not the administration.
Yes, but having too much can be bad.
yes and no
Having a good friend is one of the best thing God has given us to have.
The good thing about health is having it. And so, the bad thing is not having it. SOme people say that you don't miss something until it's gone, and that can be said about health.
it could be
because if it was dry, it would be all ugly, oily its a good thing
Yes you are allowed and should but do not wave it around like a gun... but Bibles are a good thing to have in schools
