Acts 2:38 - 39 says the Holy Ghost promise is to those afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
The speaker of tongues, the hearer of the tongues and the Holy Spirit, when in a group. When in private, the speaker, God who is being worshipped and the Holy Spirit that gives us the words.
The holy ghost is not visible , but he is with us always if we believe in god.
He sent the Holy Ghost to be with us.
the gift accepted from Jesus from the pentecost was the gift of the holy ghost the holy ghost is the promise Jesus gave us and it tells us that he will be back during the rapture and that he is coming back for his church the holy ghost is when god aka as Jesus speaks through us in different languages and that's how you know you have the gift og the holy ghost
First you must ask yourself "What is the difference between Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit ?" They are both the same. Now if you read in John 4:24 it says...God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. KJV The bible also tells us that God is Holy 1 Peter 1:16 "Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." KJV Thus answers that not only God is a Holy Ghost but is the Holy Ghost/Spirit (it's interchangeable)
the holy ghost is the spirit of Jesus Christ that will be with us until Jesus returns for His church. the holy ghost is gods spirit . here is the bible reference to state it from a KingJamesVersion bible. Eph 4:3030 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption
Yes, Jesus is seated at the right-hand-side of the Father, as the bible states. The Holy Spirit is on the earth as stated in the Holy Bible also. Jesus said, just before he went up into heaven that He would send the Comforter to us (the Holy Spirit), and He did.
Pentecostals believe that a person must first confess their sins to God and believe in their heart that he died for theirs sins, was risen from the dead, and ascended into heaven. The next step is to be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins. Then the person must seek for the baptism of the Holy Ghost. When a person is baptized with the Holy Ghost they speak in an unknown tongue. This is the initial evidence that they have the Holy Ghost. All of these steps are apart of the plan of salvation. If the Lord did not feel that it would not be important to tell us to seek for the Holy Ghost he would of not told us in the Bible. Most people do not agree with the statement above. This requires a lot of searching and seeking. If anyone would really like to know the truth on this matter, read after the death of Jesus, after his ascension. Do a study on Holy Ghost baptism, speaking in tongues. There is also speaking in an unknown tongue. This is apart of the nine spiritual gifts and is totally different from the baptism of the Holy Ghost. It all boils down to how bad you want to know the truth. If you want it bad enough then you will search and you will find your answer. Jesus himself said "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13 and "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matthew 7:7
No definately not. We are saved by grace through faith ALONE. No works can save us. Now there are some who would have you believe that you need to speak in "tongues" to show that you have the Holy Spirit in you. But Paul clearly teaches that there are DIFFERENT gifts of the Spirit. Not every saved Christian will speak in tongues. And TRUE Bible tongues is not this gibberish that is spoken in churches today, but rather the sudden ability to speak in another language of the world in order to spread the gospel to other nations.
Holy Ghost is a name made up by Christendom and does not appear in the bible. Holy Spirit is God's active force and the power by which he created the known/uknown (to us) universe and how he accomplishes all things for our good.
Snakes use there tongues for a lot of thing. Snakes use their tongues for smell and to find food.
Hello, you don't get the Holy Ghost he's there always for us. We are the ones that the Holy Ghost has trouble getting because we stray from our faith. If you pay attention to your life you'll have evidence that he's always been there. SELAH! Another Answer: HI comming from an apostolic christian church of god i dont agree with the above answer. the holy ghost can dwell with you always, thats if you are baptised with it. but you can get it in the sense that it can come down and temporarily take over you. the only way you will get it is to pray to god with your heaRt for it. and call the holy ghost to come. but if you dont believe in the bible it wont come as the holy ghost goes by the bible as the connexion to man . and also you need to believe jesus christ is your saviour. WITH YoUR hearT. ask to be anointed with the holy spirit and keep praising till it happens. but be prepared its a sight. Another View: The second person is absolutely right! The Holy Ghost will abide in you but first there are some things you must know You must repent ask God to forgive you of your sins. That means stop sinning and never turn back to sinning you must live a righteous and holy life. Then you get baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission(complete elimination) of sins and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. You dont get baptized in father son Holy Ghost because the bible says Go Baptizing in the name of the father son and Holy Ghost the name. What's the the name of the father? Jesus. What's the name of the son? Jesus. What's the name of the Holy Ghost? jesus. Father,Son Holy Ghost are nothing but titles because Jesus is The Father in Creation, The Son in Redemption, And THE HOLY GHOST in the Church. Then you must tarry(wait) on the Holy Ghost. How do you wait on the Holy Ghost? Through "Prayer and Supplication." The bible says " And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the lord(which is Jesus) shall be saved. So you keep sayin jesus over and over and you must mean every bit of what you're saying, thinking, and doing because in the bible the scripture says " That the people will speak with new tongues as the spirit of God gives utterance." and there's another that says " For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people." And that's the evidence of you getting the Holy Ghost Speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God gives utterance. you can't speak in tongues yourself, God has to do it. And this constitutes the new birth of being adopted into God's Royal Family. I am not saved yet myself but I am working on myself to get there. It is a fight to get to heaven it is a Suffering way. It wont be easy but in the end you will have eternal rest if you get saved but if not hell a place of eternal fire and torment where the souls won't die neither have rest but burn for the rest of eternity will be your home and show this to somebody that they might also get saved. Another Answer: Hi....just wanted to add a note for clarification.....it is not a requirement that you be baptized with water before recieving the Holy Ghost...in Acts 10:44-48 Cornelius and his house were filled with the Holy Ghost before water baptism...God's first requirement is that you believe...and remember the Holy Ghost is not something we earn or even deserve for that matter but a precious gift from our awesome God...o and I too have witnessed people recieve the Holy host before baptism in this day and time....just wanted to provide scripture to back it up :)... PLEASE READ discussion page ABOUT CORNELIUS................. Additional Comments: The church that i came from is world of life Apostolic center, i have seen many people receive the holy ghost, i am a witness because i received it. the way you get the the holy ghost is to go into a prayer and speak to God with your heart and faith ask god what you want. GOd said if you seek you shall find if you ask you shall receive when you want the holy ghost beforeyou do anything start praying and repent for sins, then believe that god has forgivin you then after that just worship god from your heart you have to want god more then water.
