The simplest answer is that is is blessed by a priest.

A slightly more complex answer is that the Holy Spirit is channeled through the priest to make the water holy.

AnswerYou will probably get a variety of answers to this question. Holy water is called a 'sacramental' in the Roman Catholic Church. It is not a "sacrament", but an object that has been ritually blessed and prepared so that it can be used by the faithful in some devotional way. Catholic churches will often have 'fonts' at their entrances (containers, sometimes on beautiful stone pedestals) containing holy water so that the faithful can dip a finger in and bless themselves as they enter church.

Holy water is any water thatis blessed by a bishop, priest, or deacon in the Catholic Church. Often, the water is from a special place, such as the water from Lourdes where the Blessed Mother appeared. Most often, however, it is regular tap water that is blessed, as done at the Easter Vigil. This is wrong there is no holy water it is just normal, water mix in with something.

Who do Christians believe are the members of the Trinity?

It is called the Trinity because the God we believe in is tripartite (or consists of three parts) - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I like to relate this to water which comes in 3 forms - liquid, solid (ice) and gas (steam). So ice is different from liquid water, and liquid water is different form steam and steam is different form ice, yet they are all still water. So it is with God - the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father, yet they are each forms of God.

Why is the holy water a symbol of the Holy Trinity?

Holy water is not a symbol of the holy trinity. The holy trinity has to do with the idea of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Holy water is used to show the "washing away" of sin.
