No, since it is no longer considered a disease or a disorder. It was listed as a deviant behavior in 1952, one that psychiatrists of that era believed would required intensive therapy. It remained listed as a mental disease till 1974, at which time it was reclassified as more of a disorder than a serious disease; by 1980, it was no longer included as a mental illness of any sort. But it was still included as a "psychological disturbance," a condition that was seen as a problem (called "ego-dystonic homosexuality), since the authors presupposed that being heterosexual was the norm. However, by the time the DSM III was revised in 1986, this listing too was gone, and since then, being a gay man or lesbian is no longer included as any kind of psychological disorder.
