Homosexuality is not the "norm" in that things that are the norm are common. Only about 3.5% to 8% of people are gay.
However, it's not proper to refer to it as abnormal, because this word implies a lack of health. Homosexuality is natural and healthy.

∙ 6y agoYes, homosexuality is natural. Many species in nature (and humans are part of nature) include homosexual pairings.
Some would claim that "If everyone was gay, the species would die out".
The problem with that logic, however, is that "everyone" is not gay, there seems to be a pretty heavy preponderance towards being straight, so the species isn't about to die out. Every single member of a species (people, dogs, whales, fruit flies, whatever) does not need to be exactly the same and since no one IS the exact same, not even identical twins, variations are absolutely natural.
Being gays is a variation. It isn't about to cause the end of humanity. It is simply "different" and different is as natural as people who have blue or brown or green eyes; they aren't the same either. But they're all perfectly natural.
