A stop error, or a "blue screen of death", happens in windows when there is some sort of hardware problem. The computer automatically shuts itself off to prevent further damage.

Generally when a computer shuts itself down it's considered a side effect of having something wrong with it. The most common occurance being a virus. It would be best to run a virus scanning program, or taking the computer into a Computer Repair Store.

You can enter the IF and IF NOT commands. Both deal with certain conditions and what to do if that scenario happens or not. There is also the IF EXIST and IF NOT EXIST arguments. For example: IF EXIST C:\WINDOWS goto A IF NOT EXIST C:\WINDOWS shutdown -s If Windows exists on the computer, the program is commanded to go to tab A. If Windows doesn't exist, then the computer shuts down. Also, I do believe entering variables into code can also be considered an argument. Make sure that you have a legal version. Not registered version turn themselves off each 2 hours. If you have a legal version, make sure that your CPU, chipset or/and video card do not overheat. This is the most common reason for often rebooting.
