So Jesus said to them, “ assuredly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain be removed and be cast into the sea, it will be done”. Matthew 21 18-21

The first answerer wrote--with capitalization, spacing, etc., corrected:

"The Bible says witchcraft (including mind-reading & telekinesis) is evil. "If you believe what the Bible says (and if you're Catholic you most certainly should) then it's witchcraft and therefore evil." That answer is wrong. Firstly, not all the prohibitions in the Old Testament are accepted by all Christians, and certainly not by Catholics. (Eating shrimp, ham, and/or a cheeseburger, for instance.)

Second, the Biblical prohibitions against witchcraft apply because of the assumed source of the powers--Satanic deals--not the power itself. This is why it is so self-defeating for Christians to condemn most fiction involving magic: WITHIN the story, the magic is almost always morally neutral (like a hammer or other tool) or more rarely, it is morally good because the power will be lost or backfire if used for evil. So unless telekinesis has been immorally acquired, it is a tool, and neither bad nor good. Of course, this assumes it's real. If we're talking about a staged imitation of TK, as in a magic show, then the rules for entertainment apply instead.

(Note that by "catholics" the first answerer and I are both assuming that you mean "Catholic morality.") Um, uh, only if you're hurting Catholics by using it?

Seriously:

* IF there is such a thing as telekinesis (note the correct spelling, in case you want to do a Web search), and

* IF it's not acquired by illegal or illicit means--say, a pact with Satan--

then this question has exactly the same answer as "Is it against Catholic morality to use a hammer?"

That is, the answer depends on what you're using it to do.

When did telekinesis start occurring?

Telekinesis is the production of movement (by the use of the mind ) without physical contact. There have been reports of telekinesis for as long as there has been written documentation of such things and legends of such from well before that. Pinning down an exact date is virtually impossible, but my thought on the matter is telekinesis has been around just about as long as man has.
