Is it bad if a leopard gecko loses its tail?

No, don't worry it will grow back with in a year,maybe more,but I would try to make sure is doesn't happen again, Most lizards have the ability of losing their tails to get away from their predators

When a leopard gecko is in distress, grabbed by the tail, having the tail stuck and forced to release it, the tails are fragile and can very easily be lost. If this happens, the leopard gecko has the ability to regenerate a new tail. This newer tail is usually not the exact same shape or size as a "original tail". (Original tails on geckos are looked at in most cases, to be a higher valued animal.) During the period that your leopard gecko is growing another tail, it is important to ensure the animal is receiving proper nutrition. This includes: feeding appropriate feeders, gut loading feeders, coating feeders in calcium and ensuring the animal is being fed 3 - 4 times a week.

IF YOUR LEOPARD GECKO HAS A SKINNY TAIL, THAT MEANS IT IS SICK AND MUST ME TAKEN TO A VET ASAP. If it is small in length, that means that it was being attacked and bitten in the tail, so to make a quick get away, they snap off their tail and run away. If its tail is small like that, it is simply growing back.

Yes, leopard geckos do grow their tails back. It would probably take a couple of months, and the tail would be smaller and less impressive than the original.
